A little bit more about me…

Hello! I’m Becky, and welcome to Pattern Paper Scissors. I’m here to provide you family friendly patterns, kits and complementing fabrics!

I believe that everyone can be creative, that anyone can get joy from making something for a loved one. I also believe that taking time out from our busy lives to create is intrinsic to a happy mind, and I want to empower you to achieve this.

I worked within the fashion industry for 16 years (gaining invaluable experience in clothing design and manufacture), however once I started a family, I became disillusioned with the ever churning and wasteful way of life I accepted as standard. I wanted to show my kids an alternative to fast fashion, that there’s another way to do things, and that we shouldn’t accept this as normal. That clothing should be cherished and cared for, not frivolous and thrown away.

Whilst on mat leave, I pulled out my sewing machine and started making bits and bobs for my eldest. I re-discovered the amazing feeling of saying “I made it myself” when asked where my creation was from, and these proud moments became something I wanted to help others achieve too. I found my calling!

I want to inspire all generations (including beginners) to pick up a sewing pattern and find their flair for sewing. To discover what they can achieve with their own hands and celebrate their skills as they gift their unique creation to their loved one. To express their love by gifting something they’ve handmade to another and to see that child smile as well.

I provide modern, contemporary patterns, sewing kits and complementing fabrics for your kids.
I believe that kids love comfy, easy to wear, versatile and fun clothing and thats why Paper Pattern Scissors gives you the tools to create this yourself.
